Puan Harfizah Abdul Ghaffar
LL.B (Honours) Wales, CLP.
Harfizah Abdul Ghaffar graduated from the University of Wales, College of Aberystwyth, with an LL.B (Honours) Degree in 1991 and later obtained her Certificate in Legal Practice in 1992. Harfizah was called to the Malaysian Bar and admitted to the High Court of Malaya as an Advocate & Solicitor in November 1993.
She started her legal career in 1993 as a Legal Assistant with and later as a partner of an established legal practice of M/s Oh Teik Aun & Co., Bukit Mertajam, Pulau Pinang. She retired from the partnership in July, 2014 to start her own practice.
During her 21 years tenure with Oh Teik Aun & Co.,
Harfizah gained extensive experience in conveyancing, banking and was, for the first ten years of her practice solely responsible for developing the litigation department of the said firm particularly in civil and banking litigation. She is experienced in handling foreclosure, bankruptcy and winding-up proceedings as well as other mode of execution proceedings. corporate matters as well as she
Harfizah also specializes in eviction proceedings and land acquisition matters.
For the past ten years, Harfizah managed the conveyancing, banking and corporate department of M/s Oh Teik Aun & Co. and has acted for various commercial banks in the preparation of security documents for loans exceeding RM40 million involving business and corporate loans, bridging and end-financing as well as Labuan off-shore financing services. She has experience in handling both Conventional and Islamic bank documentations amongst others Al-Bai Bithaman Ajil, Al-Murabahah, Al-Mudharabah, Al-Musyarakah and Al-Ijara. She has also attended several seminars and workshops on Islamic Banking documentations.
She personally handled works and services provided to clients like developer company Seni Wangsa Sdn. Bhd., RGB Sdn. Bhd. and Golden Highway Auto-City Sdn. Bhd.
She has sat on various sub-committees including the Conveyancing Sub-Committee and Syariah and Islamic Finance Sub-Committee of the Penang Bar.
Puan Faziah Johari
LL.B (Honours) IIU.
Faziah Binti Johari graduated from the International Islamic University, Malaysia with an LL.B (Honours) Degree in 1991. She has worked as a legal assistant with big and established legal firms such as Cheong Wai Meng & Van Buerle and Ban Eng, Annual & Foong. In 1999, she set up her own partnership with Roshidah Binti Osman under the name and style of M/s Roshidah & Faziah. She has been managing the firm’s branch office situated at No. 48, Tingkat 2, Jalan Usahawan 2, Pusat Perniagaan Kepala Batas, 13200 Kepala Batas, Seberang Perai Utara, Pulau Pinang solely.
Faziah has vast experience in preparing loan and security documentation for Retail and Commercial Loans both Conventional and Islamic. She is well-versed in preparing Joint-Venture Agreements as well as Management Agreement. She has acted for various commercial banks and is currently preparing Retail and Commercial Loans documentations for the end-financiers to Bertam Properties Sdn. Bhd. various projects. Faziah has attended series of workshops on Islamic Documentation organized by the State Bar and the Bar Council.
She is currently involved in major housing development projects by Bertam Properties Sdn. Bhd., Uda Land (North) Sdn. Bhd. and JKP Sdn. Bhd. She has been appointed as stakeholder for Uda Land (North) Sdn. Bhd.
Besides Conveyancing, Faziah has experience in Banking Litigation and has solely handled foreclosure, bankruptcy and hire- purchase proceedings. She is also experienced in Probate and Administration matters.
